Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Specialist provision in Cheadle. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of SEN children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Class Teacher: Collaborate with the class teacher to prepare and deliver engaging lessons and activities that cater to the needs of SEN children.
  • Encourage Expected Behavior: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment by encouraging expected behavior and promoting social skills.
  • Support Offsite Activities: Accompany children on offsite activities and outings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Record Progress: Monitor and record the progress of SEN children, providing valuable insights to support their development.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Passion for SEN Education: Demonstrate a genuine passion for SEN children's teaching and learning, with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Energetic and Enthusiastic Personality: Bring an energetic and enthusiastic approach to your work, inspiring children to learn and grow.
  • Experience Working with SEN Children: Have experience working with SEN children in a school or care setting, with a deep understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Personal Care Experience: Possess personal care experience, moving and handling skills, or BSL (British Sign Language) qualifications (desirable but not essential).
