Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with special educational needs achieve their learning goals.

About the Role:

  • Support the Class Teacher: Assist in the delivery of engaging lessons and creative activities to students with complex additional needs.
  • Build Relationships: Develop strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Safe and Fun Learning Environment: Ensure a safe and enjoyable learning space for children, promoting their emotional and social well-being.
  • Expected Behavior and Role Modeling: Encourage expected behavior and serve as a positive role model for students.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN in an education or care setting is highly desirable.
  • Personal Qualities: A calm and patient demeanor, with a sensitivity and understanding of the needs of students with SEN.
  • Desirable Skills: Personal care, moving and handling, and BSL experience are highly desirable.

  • Vetting Checks: All applicants will undergo standard vetting checks, including the obtainment of two previous employment references and an enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Overseas Criminal Check: Applicants who have lived outside of the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years will be required to present an overseas criminal check (Police check).
