Job Purpose

To support the University of Glasgow's international student recruitment strategies and contribute to meeting institutional targets. The successful candidate will provide a high-quality service to students and stakeholders from around the world.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Enquiry Management: Respond to overseas agents, counsellors, and students in a timely and effective manner, maintaining excellent customer-care skills at all times.
  2. Conversion Activities: Collaborate with the Student Recruitment Team to implement and deliver conversion activities across all regions, utilizing online webinars, web chats, social media, and other strategies.
  3. Financial Management: Manage multiple complex regional budgets, reconcile commitments to expense, and highlight potential semester overspends.
  4. Agent Commission: Process agent commission, liaise with overseas agents to ensure accuracy of claims, and verify student registrations before authorizing payment.
  5. Sponsor Reporting: Collaborate with Colleges and International Recruitment Managers to ensure timely submission of reports to sponsors, developing and improving sponsor reporting processes as necessary.
  6. Event Management: Support the delivery of on-campus and off-campus events, including recruitment fairs, agent symposiums, and high school counsellor events, through extensive logistical management.
  7. Data Management: Maintain and create relevant recruitment databases, providing and manipulating data for presentation and reporting purposes to support informed decision-making.
  8. Presentation and Communication: Develop and deliver recruitment presentations, maintain up-to-date recruitment databases, and ensure all information included is current and relevant.
  9. Travel and Representation: Represent the University at education fairs and other recruitment events, providing information to prospective students, teachers, and parents in a professional and friendly manner.
  10. Collaboration and Support: Liaise with administrative and academic colleagues at all levels within the University, providing cover for other administrative team members during absence and assisting in other sections of the ER department as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A1: A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • A2: Detailed knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • B1: A second language is desirable.
  • C1: Working knowledge of databases, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and web-based research.
  • C2: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • C3: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • C4: The ability to multitask and use discretion at all times.
  • C5: A customer-focused approach to work.
  • C6: The ability to work as part of a team.
  • C7: Sensitivity to cultural differences.

Terms and Conditions

The salary for this position is Grade 5, £25,138 - £29,605 per annum. This is a full-time, open-ended position.
