Job Purpose

To contribute to the University of Glasgow's international student recruitment strategies by providing exceptional support to students, agents, and stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with the UK and International Recruitment Managers and Recruitment Officers to achieve institutional and College targets.

The role involves managing student enquiries, implementing conversion activities, and developing clear lines of communication with external stakeholders. The postholder will also carry out student recruitment activities in the UK and overseas, representing the University at education fairs and other recruitment events.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Act as the first point of contact for overseas agents, counsellors, and students, responding swiftly and effectively to all enquiries and maintaining excellent customer-care skills.
  2. Support the implementation and delivery of conversion activities across all regions, working with other Student Recruitment Coordinators to make use of online webinars, web chats, social media, and other activities.
  3. Liaise with international students who are already engaged in the admissions process, raising Purchase Orders and tracking and maintaining budget sheets for multiple complex regional budgets.
  4. Process agent commission, including liaison with overseas agents to ensure accuracy of claims and verifying student registrations before authorising payment.
  5. Collaborate with Colleges and the appropriate International Recruitment Manager to ensure reports for sponsors are collated and submitted to sponsors in a timely manner.
  6. Support the delivery of on and off campus, and virtual, events, such as recruitment fairs, agent symposiums, and high school counsellor events, through extensive logistical management.
  7. Maintain and create relevant recruitment databases, providing and manipulating data for presentation and reporting purposes to support informed decision making.
  8. Ensure recruitment presentation templates are kept up to date, and that all information included is current and relevant.
  9. Meet visitors to campus and give standard presentations to a range of audiences, including potential students and their parents, schools, colleges, and other visiting groups/delegations.
  10. Travel overseas and in the UK when required to represent the University at education fairs and other recruitment events, providing information to prospective students, teachers, and parents in a professional and friendly manner.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. A second language is desirable, and experience of public speaking, clean driving licence, and international travel are also advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer-facing role, managing and processing data, giving presentations to a wide range of audiences, and looking after multiple and complex budgets. Experience of working with international students and/or staff, and in an Educational recruitment/marketing office, is also desirable.

Terms and Conditions

The salary for this post is Grade 5, £25,138 - £29,605 per annum. The post is full-time and open-ended, offering a warm welcoming and engaging organisational culture, where your talents are developed and nurtured, and success is celebrated and shared.
