Senior Children's Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at a modern residential children's home in Exeter. As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people aged 8-16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

About the Role:

  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a safe and homely environment
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is essential
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is essential
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People
