We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Children\u2019s Support Worker to join our team at a modern residential children\u2019s home in Exeter. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Our ideal candidate will be committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young people, enabling them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when necessary
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for children and young people and promote their independence and well-being
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people
  • Ensure the safety of students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children\u2019s Support Worker or with Young People is essential
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is essential
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People
