Job Summary:

This is a key opportunity for an ambitious individual to make their next career move in joining the team as a Functional Skills Educator teaching both Math and English at Level 2, 3 & GCSE level. This role is based in an Ofsted-rated GOOD college that is known for its positive and bustling atmosphere.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced educator to join our team. As a Functional Skills Educator, you will be responsible for creating engaging lessons and nurturing a supportive learning environment for apprentices, school leavers, and mature students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with and complete all relevant company paperwork and policies.
  • Abide by Ofsted, QCF, and company regulations at all times, ensuring that portfolios and learner files satisfy awarding body criteria.
  • Actively participate in, and promote, the safeguarding of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
  • Practice and promote the importance of equal opportunities and diversity considerations, both for learners, and within the workplace.
  • Attend bi-monthly team meetings and standardization meetings, and keep up to date with changes to national standards.
  • Work towards further professional qualifications to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Promote College values and adhere to safeguarding policies, and engage in continuous professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Good basic general education including GCSE (or) equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
  • Teaching Qualification.
  • All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognized Teaching Qualification or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.
