Job Overview

As a Technical Director at JP Morgan Chase Bank, National Association, you will play a critical role in supporting teams in multiple locations globally. This position requires a strong understanding of metals and mining, as well as excellent technical and business skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive business origination and execution.
  2. Risk Evaluation: Support credit in evaluating metals and mining asks that have a greater technical risk.
  3. Business Development: Balance spend with investment banking globally, helping to originate and execute M&A and capital markets business.
  4. Technical Reporting: Review technical reports pertaining to an asset, flagging critical diligence issues and supporting bankers in analysis and valuing the asset.
  5. Site Visits: Participate in site visits and provide summary diligence reports.
  6. Client and Internal Engagement: Role will involve both client-facing and internal engagement.
  7. Travel: Travel will be required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of a range of lending structures and experience working with lenders.
  • Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources, confident in speaking with clients and stakeholders to gain relevant information.
  • Exceptional partner who will collaborate across JP Morgan Investment Bank and Credit across EMEA, North America, and APAC.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical background as a mining engineer (we can also consider geologists) is preferred.
  • Experience working for banks or consultancy firms supporting areas of project finance, lenders feasibility study.
  • Prior experience at a financial institution is a plus.
