St. David's RC Primary and Early Learning Centre is a faith-based, co-educational institution located in the Dalkeith region of Midlothian. The school features 7 classes catering to P1 to P7 students, accommodating nearly 200 pupils, alongside an Early Learning and Childcare facility with capacity for 40 children aged 3-5, providing hours of ELC throughout the session.

Application Requirements

Pre-Employment Checks for Teaching Positions

Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks, including medical screening, two written references (one from the most recent employer), verification of original qualifications, and eligibility to work in the United Kingdom. Registration with the General Teaching Council and a satisfactory PVG check for Regulated Work with Children are also essential.

General Teaching Council Scotland

Applicants for permanent positions must be fully registered with the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS). For further information on registration, please visit the relevant website.

This position is classified as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if barred from working with children.

Successful candidates will need to obtain PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment, with the associated costs covered by salary deductions.
