About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gynaecology Consultant to join our team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a key member of our Gynaecology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with gynaecological conditions, including general gynaecology clinics, day case and inpatient operating lists, and on-call duties.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff, to deliver high-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of our Gynaecology services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of our services, including the management of complex gynaecological cases.
  • Teach and train junior staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient care and professional development.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Gynaecology Consultant who possesses the following qualities:

  • Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Computer literate and able to use clinical systems and software.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of the Trust and its services.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Experience of audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work within the Trust and NHS performance framework and targets.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a medical degree from a recognised medical school.
  • Be a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) or equivalent.
  • Have a full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Be included on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT (or CESR/equivalent).
  • Have experience in gynaecology, including general gynaecology clinics, day case and inpatient operating lists, and on-call duties.
  • Have experience of leading a team of healthcare professionals and contributing to the development of services.
