About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gynaecology Consultant to join our team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a key member of our Gynaecology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with gynaecological conditions, including general gynaecology clinics, day case and inpatient operating lists, and on-call duties.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff, to deliver high-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of our Gynaecology services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of our Trust's clinical governance and audit processes.
  • Teach and train junior staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient care and professional development.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
  • MRCOG or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Experience in gynaecological surgery, including benign abdominal surgery, hysteroscopy, and colposcopy.
  • Ability to lead a team of healthcare professionals and contribute to the development of our services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
