Sample Handling and Labeling Coordinator

Position Overview:

Shift: Tuesday – Friday 2.00pm-10.00pm, Saturday 10.00am – 6pm

As a Sample Handling and Labeling Coordinator, you will serve as the initial point of contact for samples arriving at our facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the receipt and labeling of samples, ensuring that customer submissions are processed accurately and efficiently. You will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders by leveraging your comprehensive knowledge of our offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with established Customer Service Standards and strive to meet team performance indicators.
  • Meticulously adhere to standard operating procedures for the registration, receipt, labeling, and storage of samples.
  • Provide clients with necessary consumables, including routine orders and special requests.
  • Address any discrepancies regarding extra or missing samples from previous submissions each morning.
  • Ensure that all samples with shelf life concerns are prioritized and managed promptly.
  • Communicate any issues regarding extra or missing samples to the Sample Registration Manager and the customer.
  • Store samples in designated locations and under appropriate conditions.
  • Document all customer interactions in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all subcontracted samples are logged, labeled, and packaged within agreed timelines to meet customer turnaround times.

Qualifications:


Essential:

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Background in a scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of HND or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the food industry.
  • Familiarity with AIS LIMS.
