About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Radiopharmacy department as a Healthcare Research Scientist. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our team and play a key role in the preparation and supply of radiopharmaceuticals to the Trust Nuclear Medicine service and external customers.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Preparation and Supply of Radiopharmaceuticals

Participate in the preparation and supply of radiopharmaceuticals to the Trust Nuclear Medicine service and external customers, ensuring a high-quality service is provided at all times.

Release of Manufactured Radiopharmaceuticals

Release manufactured radiopharmaceuticals for clinical use under the arrangement of the unit's Specials manufacturing licence.

Ensuring Compliance with Legislation

Ensure that all activities undertaken by all staff within the unit meet current legislation such as GMP/GDP, GCP, Medicines Act, H & S at Work Act, COSHH, and that all work documentation and procedures are accordingly being followed.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Essential
    • MPharm, MRPS, or other Science degree with advanced qualification in radiopharmacy/nuclear medicine.
  • Desirable
    • Clinical Pharmaceutical Scientist training.
    • Current Radiation Protection Supervisors Certificate of training.
  • Knowledge and Experience
    • Minimum of 24 months post-registration experience and 6 months full-time work in an aseptic unit.
    • Experience of working in a licensed aseptic unit.
