Job Overview
The Recreation Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role within our organization. This position involves ongoing customer engagement, instruction, lifeguarding, and delivering outstanding customer service. The role offers a fulfilling experience and serves as a stepping stone towards a successful career in leisure management within a dynamic and expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest standards of health and safety and customer service within the facility.
- Support the development and execution of the swimming program, ensuring compliance with relevant language legislation.
- Deliver the learn-to-swim program and lifeguard as directed by the Swim Manager.
- Assist the Swim Manager in creating and promoting an innovative pool program to enhance facility usage and profitability.
- Oversee shift management responsibilities to optimize overall performance and maintain exceptional customer service standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Duty Activity Manager and Swim Manager to gain valuable insights and experience.
- Ensure the provision of a clean, high-quality facility and engaging leisure programs.
- Act as a member of the Centre Duty Management Team on a shift rotation, covering early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols and responsibilities at all times.
- Assist the Swim Manager in delivering the learn-to-swim program and lifeguard as needed.
- Support the organization of teaching and coaching courses and maintain a register of qualified swim instructors and coaches.
- Report on performance metrics, statistics, targets, and KPIs as required for contract monitoring.
- Ensure adequate staffing for the safe and efficient operation of the pool.
- Act as a primary key holder for the facility, responsible for opening and closing procedures.
- Fulfill any regulatory obligations as necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess a recognized qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development, or a related field. Proficiency in Welsh is preferred. Candidates should have relevant knowledge and skills in the leisure industry, particularly within small to medium-sized enterprises. A First Aid at Work qualification and National Pool Lifeguard Qualification are advantageous, though training will be provided if necessary. A Level 2 teaching qualification is desirable, with training available for those who do not currently hold it. A recognized Pool Plant Operators qualification is also preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe if not already held.
