**Rolling Stock Fitter / Locomotive Driver**

We’re looking to recruit a Rolling Stock Fitter (primary role) / Locomotive Driver (secondary role) to work at Snowdon Mountain Railway. The role is full-time and permanent. Our operating season runs from mid-March until the end of October, where you will carry out routine inspections, ad-hoc repairs and servicing.

Out of season major maintenance, you will undertake planned maintenance on our rolling stock.
- Other duties will include commissioning/ decommissioning, repair and maintenance of Hafod Eryri Summit building CHP and BMS systems.
- Formally trained (NVQ Level 3 preferred) and served as a mechanic or plant fitter for two years.

Reporting to the Railway Maintenance Supervisors / Rolling Stock Manager / Railway Operations Manager other responsibilities will include working a flexible policy during the Operating Season where rostered duties can change at short notice as business demands. You’ll also carry out late and standby duties as directed by your line manager. Your hours of work will be an average of 48 hours per week including weekends (March to November).

During the closed season you’ll be working as part of the Maintenance Team on maintenance and repairs as allocated. Your hours of work will be an average of 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (November to March).

You will undertake driver training and pass out to operate our diesel locomotive.

Starting salary: £29,700 pa.
