As a Lead Building Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in some of the UK's most impactful projects. Your responsibilities will span various sectors, including retail, healthcare, energy, commercial real estate, education, and public services. Collaborating with senior management, you will lead multidisciplinary teams focused on excellence. Your insights and leadership will be highly valued, fostering your ongoing growth and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in multiple projects across diverse sectors, delivering refurbishment, enhancement, and modernization initiatives. Conduct feasibility assessments, create specifications, secure estimates, obtain necessary approvals, and manage contracts for refurbishment endeavors.
  • Operate extensively throughout various regions, with occasional projects extending beyond.
  • Utilize standard building contract frameworks, such as JCT and NEC.
  • Apply building surveying professional services with a minimum of 2-3 years of post-chartership experience.
  • Mentor and guide junior surveyors, providing supervisory support for those on the RICS APC pathway.
  • Comprehend quality, safety, and environmental principles in asset surveys, project design, and management.
  • Assist senior managers in daily operations.
  • Oversee junior building surveying personnel.
  • Conduct surveys, inspections, and schedules, delivering professional services and managing regional projects.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including preparing and submitting proposals.

Qualifications:

  • A B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a comparable RICS accredited qualification.
  • Chartered status is essential or highly desirable.
  • Robust technical surveying knowledge and extensive building surveying experience.
  • Proven experience in client management with a strong grasp of profitability, business development, and commercial acumen.
  • Background in mentoring, training, and coaching team members.
  • Experience in managing workloads and projects effectively.
  • Proficient in drafting technical documents, including client requirements, asset evaluations, feasibility studies, specifications, and drawings.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety regulations and statutory compliance.
  • Specialized technical skills to fulfill professional building surveying service requirements, such as dilapidations, party wall matters, fire risk assessments, and access evaluations.
  • Exceptional time management, punctuality, and a commitment to delivering results.
