As a Lead Building Surveyor, you will oversee a team of Property Condition Surveyors, whose expertise is crucial for ensuring the quality and safety of our clients' residences, our substantial investment strategies, and our sustainability efforts.
We have two openings available: one focusing on South and West Devon and Cornwall, and the other on Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Somerset, and Mid and North Devon.
We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable populations, and we expect all team members to uphold this commitment. Employment in this role will be contingent upon a satisfactory basic check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Candidate Profile
To qualify for the Lead Building Surveyor position, you should possess the skills, knowledge, and experience appropriate for a level 2 Team Leader/Supervisor role (please refer to our candidate information pack) along with:
  • Extensive knowledge in building surveying, supported by a professional qualification in Property Surveying (RICS, CIOB, CABE, or equivalent).
  • Strong building diagnosis and fault-finding capabilities.
  • Experience with domestic properties from a technical standpoint, showcasing an understanding of the built environment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to housing management and the construction sector, including CDM.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or line management.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry practices.
  • Experience in social housing is not mandatory. If you are new to this sector, you will be expected to quickly familiarize yourself with the operational landscape, key stakeholders, challenges, risks, and opportunities.
