Rushden, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is pleased to announce an opportunity within our dedicated perinatal psychology team. We are seeking a qualified Psychological Therapist or Family Therapist to join our esteemed Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service (SPMHS). This award-winning team is committed to enhancing mental health support for women and birthing individuals during the critical perinatal period, which spans from 12 weeks of pregnancy to 2 years postpartum.

The SPMHS is designed to assist those experiencing or at risk of moderate to severe mental health challenges during this time. Our psychology team employs evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Family Therapy. Interventions are delivered in both individual and group settings, with options for remote and in-person sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Upon successful onboarding, the selected candidate will conduct specialized psychological assessments, formulate treatment plans, and provide interventions for women and their families engaged with the SPMHS. The role includes collaboration with a senior psychologist or psychological therapist for supervision and support, while also contributing to the integration of psychologically informed care across our multidisciplinary team.

Additionally, the therapist will participate in multidisciplinary discussions to enhance psychological practices within the service and provide guidance to colleagues and caregivers. The position requires active involvement in service development initiatives, utilizing research skills for audits and policy enhancements.
