Job Title: Senior Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Service at Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological interventions to women experiencing or at risk of experiencing moderate to severe mental health conditions in the perinatal period.

About the Role

The postholder will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of perinatal mental health conditions. The successful candidate will have experience of working with complex cases and will be able to provide clinical supervision and line management to band 7 colleagues.

The postholder will also be responsible for leading on an area of service development and contributing to the management and operations of psychological interventions within the SPMHS. This will involve working closely with the psychology management team to develop clinical expertise in perinatal psychology.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide specialist psychological interventions to women experiencing or at risk of experiencing moderate to severe mental health conditions in the perinatal period.
  2. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of perinatal mental health conditions.
  3. Provide clinical supervision and line management to band 7 colleagues.
  4. Lead on an area of service development and contribute to the management and operations of psychological interventions within the SPMHS.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in clinical psychology and will have experience of working in a mental health setting. They will also have experience of leadership and service development within the NHS.

The postholder will be required to have a broad knowledge of specialist mental health services of mothers and their infants and the wider network of mental health services in the NHS. They will also need to have knowledge of policies and procedures relating to Child Protection.
