MMP Consultancy is currently seeking a skilled Property Inspector to join our team within a local authority framework. This role is designed for a temporary engagement, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Area Repairs Manager to establish and enhance efficient systems for the routine inspection of external and communal property areas.
- Identify and prioritize needs for reactive repairs and scheduled maintenance, ensuring timely execution of necessary works.
- Partner with colleagues across Housing services to foster a unified approach aimed at enhancing quality and satisfaction for residents.
- Manage resource allocation within the Property Services Division to adapt to varying workloads effectively.
- Communicate key investment needs to the Property Planning and Assets Team for proper integration into major works planning.
- Oversee the local execution of the repairs term partnering contract, ensuring adherence to all contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with various teams within Housing services to provide a comprehensive service to customers.

Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure full implementation and documentation of the Council's health and safety policies for residents, staff, and contractors.
- Provide expert guidance on health and safety regulations relevant to the construction sector.

Strategic Leadership:
- Offer strategic direction within the Housing portfolio, actively contributing to the collective leadership of the council.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve the council's objectives and priorities.

Quality Assurance:
- Guarantee that all repairs within residents' homes meet high standards and are executed in line with contractual agreements.
- Manage and resolve complaints efficiently, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly.
- Document and resolve any defects that could lead to claims of disrepair thoroughly.
- Ensure claims for works falling under the Council's insurance policy are processed correctly.

Financial Management:
- Authorize contractor payments up to £1,500 per job and select jobs for post-inspection to ensure quality control.
- Handle cancellation requests from contractors, providing detailed reasons for any refusals.

Inspection Process:
- Prior to appointments, confirm with residents regarding their availability and any health concerns.
- Complete and upload Site Audit Pro documentation to SharePoint, updating visit details accordingly.
- Ensure all claims are logged, monitored, and progressed efficiently for the designated area.

Documentation Management:
- Maintain Section 20 paperwork and manage insurance claims related to pre and post inspections.
