Remedy Social Work is seeking a skilled Construction Project Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This role involves a hybrid working model, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Construction Project Surveyor, you will collaborate with the Asset Investment team to:
1. Develop and implement efficient systems for inspecting external and communal areas of properties.
2. Evaluate and recommend specialized contractors to support the execution of various projects.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with colleagues in Housing and Commercial Partnerships to deliver effective programs, adapting to the evolving landscape of homelessness services.
Leadership and Development:
Assist in leading and nurturing a team of technical professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and high performance. You will also:
1. Manage and mentor colleagues within the Property Planning and Assets sector.
2. Oversee the local execution of voids contracts, ensuring adherence to all contractual obligations.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure the implementation and documentation of the Council's health and safety policies for residents, staff, and contractors. Provide expert guidance on applicable health and safety regulations within the construction sector.
Strategic Leadership:
Contribute to the strategic direction of the Housing portfolio, collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve the Council's objectives and priorities.
Project Management:
Lead project management efforts, ensuring contractors utilize appropriate techniques for multi-trade works. Encourage team members to develop strong project management skills and maintain a thorough understanding of contract terms and specifications.
Client and Contractor Engagement:
Engage directly with residents as necessary, ensuring effective communication regarding project progress and completion. Monitor the job management system to ensure timely updates from both clients and contractors.
Defect Diagnosis:
Take the lead in diagnosing building defects that lack clear causes, ensuring a systematic approach is followed by contractors. Maintain a documented process for all team members to adhere to.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all works on void properties meet the required standards. Identify and document any defects or substandard work, ensuring that necessary remedial actions are completed prior to acceptance of work.
