About the Role

83zero Limited is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence / SQL Developer to join our talented team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating new reports, updating and maintaining existing ones, and converting reports and queries from PowerBI to SSRS.

The ideal candidate will have experience writing complex SQL reports using various tools, including SSRS and PowerBI, and the ability to analyze existing SQL to understand source data structures. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence reports in SSRS, ensuring reports are updated in alignment with system and data upgrades, and thoroughly testing and validating report results to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with the Board, Senior Leadership Team, Line Manager, and Colleagues to ensure compliance and uphold duties.
  • Design and Develop Reports: Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence reports in SSRS, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Convert Reports: Convert existing PowerBI reports to SSRS, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure Report Accuracy: Thoroughly test and validate report results to ensure completeness and accuracy, and make necessary adjustments to ensure reports meet business requirements.
  • Upgrade SSRS Environment: Work with the team to upgrade the existing SSRS environment, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Interrogate and Analyze Data: Interrogate and analyze data to support the project team and business users, providing insights and recommendations to drive business growth.
  • Maintain Software and Database Objects: Maintain software and database objects, as well as system user access and control, ensuring data security and integrity.
  • Develop Expertise: Develop expertise on data structures and databases, understanding how data interrelates, and provide training and support to team members.
  • Monitor Report Performance: Monitor the performance of key reports and recommend improvements to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 5 Years of Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence, SQL Development, and data analysis.
  • Strong Educational Background: Strong educational background in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Exceptional Technical Skills: Exceptional technical skills in database architecture, design, and writing efficient, complex SQL.
  • Experience with SSRS and PowerBI: Experience with Microsoft SSRS and PowerBI, with a strong focus on SQL programming and performance tuning.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server: Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server, with a strong focus on SQL programming and performance tuning.
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly recognize, isolate, and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to Performance Tune Queries and Databases: Ability to performance tune queries and databases to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders and team members.
  • Broad Understanding of the Financial Services Industry: Broad understanding of the financial services industry, particularly asset finance.
  • Experience with Alfa, Sage X3, or Other Financial Leasing Software: Experience with Alfa, Sage X3, or other financial leasing software is highly preferred.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly to project and priority changes.
