About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at the Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist care to adults with diabetes, working closely with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist nursing care to adults with diabetes, including assessment, treatment, and education.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a high-quality diabetes service, including the provision of nurse-led clinics and support to junior medical staff.
  • Develop and maintain a high standard of nursing care, acting as a role model, educator, and competent nurse.
  • Deliver education to staff, patients, and carers, promoting best practice and improving patient outcomes.
  • Support and supervise junior diabetes nurses, promoting their professional development and growth.

Requirements

  • RGN level 1 qualification.
  • Relevant qualification applicable to diabetes.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in audit is desirable.
