About the Role

NELFT NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Learning Disability Community Health & Social Care Team in Redbridge. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist occupational therapy services to adults with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge of service users, ensuring effective communication with senior clinicians and OTs as needed.
  • Treat service users in inpatient settings, their own homes, and other community settings, empowering them towards independence where appropriate.
  • Assist in the review and evaluation of the effectiveness of occupational therapy care and practice provided, in conjunction with senior clinicians and team managers.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team with therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Be conversant with and comply with organizational policies and clinical guidelines.
  • Provide accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.
Requirements
  • BSc (Hon) Occupational Therapy Degree or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities within a community-based team.
  • Experience of occupational therapy assessment and intervention skills.
  • Previous experience assisting with service development work, such as audits to ensure best practice.
  • At least 3 years post-graduate experience working as an Occupational Therapist.
