About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As a Speech and Language Therapist for Adults with Learning Disabilities, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with complex communication needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, and implement Speech and Language Therapy treatment and management plans for adults with learning disabilities who have communication, eating, and/or swallowing difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide a comprehensive and coordinated service.
  • Supervise pre-registration students and provide clinical guidance and support to junior staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Minimum of five years post-qualification experience in Speech and Language Therapy, including at least three years working with adults with learning disabilities.
  • Experience of working with a range of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
