Position Overview

IT Infrastructure Specialist

Location: Hybrid Working

Salary Range: £40,000 - £45,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT management to enhance system performance.
  • Engage with external support providers and vendors.
  • Infrastructure Oversight - Manage and support IT infrastructure on a daily basis, coordinating with current IT service partners. Monitor system performance to ensure optimal service delivery. Execute system upgrades in accordance with change management protocols.
  • IT Support Services - Provide advanced support to both internal and external IT service teams to ensure effective issue resolution. Administer access controls for infrastructure and applications in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Vendor Management - Assist in project delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and project plans. Support IT service desk teams in resolving support tickets and escalate issues to third-party specialists as necessary.
  • Cybersecurity Management:
  • Achieve and maintain Cyber Essentials certification.
  • Evaluate M365 security metrics, identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Oversee Intune configurations and policies.
  • Supervise endpoint vulnerability assessments and patching with third-party consultants.
  • Manage firewall settings across various platforms and locations.
  • Oversee antivirus solutions across all devices.
  • Administer email security measures and services.
  • Ensure third-party cloud services align with the organization's information security and risk management strategies.
  • Project Management - Provide regular updates on project progress against established milestones and budgets. Execute IT projects to support the organization's infrastructure strategy.
  • Software Management - Maintain and enhance the organization's SharePoint environments. Manage Single Sign-On (SSO) integration across core platforms.
  • Telecommunications Management - Oversee the organization's cloud telephony systems. Manage mobile and tablet infrastructure, ensuring compliance with organizational policies across all devices.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity - Ensure effective data backup solutions are in place. Maintain a schedule for backup and restore testing, escalating significant risks as necessary. Conduct regular disaster recovery tests and contribute to business continuity planning.

Candidate Profile:

  • Possession of MCSE/MCP/CCNA certifications, ideally complemented by a degree or equivalent IT qualification.
  • Proven experience in delivering proactive IT support, with expertise in managing Office 365 and Azure platforms. Familiarity with regulated environments or ITIL/Cyber Essentials frameworks. Proficient in Active Directory (within an O365 context), Intune, AutoPilot, Defender, LAN & WAN, routing, firewalls, email and web management systems, Wi-Fi, antivirus platforms, and Teams integrated VoIP. Knowledge of Cisco/Meraki is advantageous. Experience in structured service environments, including incident, change, and problem management with defined SLAs.
