About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Technician to join our Domestic Connections team at Electricity North West (ENWL). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing low voltage network infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, value, quote, and manage low voltage statutory connections, including new connections, additional load requests, service alterations, and associated diversion and reinforcement work.
  • Ensure all new connections-related infrastructure is designed in accordance with current ENWL licence conditions, policy, and standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, taking a proactive approach to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Manage customer complaints and support lead planners and managers with complex issues.
  • Meet guaranteed standards of performance targets (GSOP) and licence condition 15 standards for non-contestable connection services.
  • Develop cost-effective design solutions in accordance with common connections charging methodology, while maintaining ENWL policy and standards.
  • Input data for Ofgem reporting purposes and provide accurate forecasts for projects under your control.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor trainee/graduate engineers, as required.
  • Perform site readiness inspections, as necessary.
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deliver a high level of service.
  • Good understanding of low voltage network design and electrical engineering design practices.
  • Experience with the electricity distribution business and Construction Design Management regulations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to meet business and regulatory targets.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Good team working and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and analytical reasoning.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving approach.
  • Full clean driving licence.
