Job Overview

As a key member of the Design Delivery Team at Taylor Woodrow, this role supports the construction activities by providing timely and assured design information to relevant stakeholders. The construction of the HS2 station's heavy civils infrastructure is nearing completion, with the baseline detailed design accepted by the client and the appointment of suppliers to build the integrated station nearing completion.

This position in the Design Management team covers a variety of civils, structural, and architectural packages for the integrated station, including Great Western Main Line (GWML) and Shared Accommodation Block (SAB) concrete, steel, cladding, and glazing works.

The primary objective of this role is to manage the timely delivery of quality-assured changes to the accepted detailed designs on behalf of the BBVS JV and the client, directing subcontractors to achieve the same for corresponding submissions across phases of the works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and manage the delivery and coordination of technical and interface aspects of the Station design/construction Work Packages.
  • Support the coordination between design and construction teams, as directed by the Design Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering, BIM, and Technical Assurance teams to achieve Code 1 Acceptance of all Design Deliverables.
  • Manage the coordination between design and construction teams, ensuring effective flow of information between parties.
  • Implement design changes and provide input into contract correspondence, where relevant.
  • Engage with the procurement process and support the development of project information.

Requirements:

  • Design Management experience, preferably in a rail environment.
  • Prior experience in railway station projects, with knowledge of GRIP awareness.
  • Experience in one of the following disciplines: Civils, Structures, Bridges, Utilities, Architecture, MEPH, Fire, or Communication systems.
  • Proficiency in construction project information software, such as eB, ALIM, ASite, BC, CEMAR, or Bentley suite.
  • Awareness of NEC3 contract principles.
