Job Overview

The Cellular Pathology Laboratory, part of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, is responsible for processing a significant volume of Histology specimens from various locations. Our laboratory is dedicated to providing high-quality diagnostic services, including Immunocytochemistry, Special Stains, Non-Gynae Diagnostic Cytology, and Digital Pathology.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses a variety of essential tasks, including:

  1. Efficiently managing specimen reception and data entry into the IT system, requiring strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  2. Assisting Biomedical Scientists and Consultants in the dissection area, which involves handling biological tissues and fluids.
  3. Supporting general operations within the laboratory, including the safe handling of chemicals and maintaining a clean working environment.
  4. Performing block and slide filing, along with other housekeeping duties such as specimen collection from different departments.

This position is integral to our collaborative team, dedicated to delivering exceptional service to clinicians and patients alike.
