Job Overview
The Cellular Pathology Laboratory, part of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, is engaged in processing a significant volume of Histology specimens from various locations. Our laboratory specializes in a range of services including Immunocytochemistry, Special Stains, Non-Gynae Diagnostic Cytology, and Digital Pathology.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role encompass:
- Efficiently managing specimen reception, including logging samples into the IT system, necessitating strong literacy, numeracy, and IT capabilities.
- Assisting Biomedical Scientists and Consultants in the dissection area, which involves handling biological tissues and fluids.
- Supporting general operations within the laboratory, including the safe handling of chemicals and maintaining a clean workspace.
- Conducting block and slide filing, along with other essential housekeeping duties such as specimen collection from various departments.
This position requires collaboration with a dedicated team to ensure high-quality service delivery to healthcare professionals and patients alike.
