Role Overview

The Social Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that TJX effectively manages business risks through its social compliance factory monitoring initiatives. This position involves communicating program requirements and expectations to associates, buying agents, and vendors, as well as supporting the audit process for third-party evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess experience and understanding of third-party factory audits, including the ability to interpret audit reports and identify key risk areas related to the industry, such as wages, forced labor, child labor, working hours, health, and safety.
  • Assess risks and provide recommendations that balance the interests of the company and its suppliers, while recognizing the significance of safeguarding the company’s reputation.
  • Educate associates, agents, and vendors on the program's requirements and expectations.
  • Assist in the audit process to ensure compliance with required timelines, including the request for industry-accredited reports and scheduling of necessary audits.
  • Collaborate with third-party entities to develop solutions for suppliers addressing critical risk areas and recommend strategies for achieving compliance.
  • Work closely with other Social Compliance Specialists and the Head Office Social Compliance Team.
  • Support Buyers, Sourcers, and Logistics teams on issues related to social compliance.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
