About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced policing professional to join our team as a Sergeant. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continued success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of officers, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of motivation and effective policing practices.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to team members on policies, legislation, and best practices to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Contribute to the identification of internal and external partners to support community policing objectives.
Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Have the support of your Chief Inspector or Police Staff equivalent.
  • Hold a current pass in the Sergeant's Legal Knowledge Exam or OSPRE Part 1 & 2 Exams.
  • Have a good record of attendance and meet force targets.
  • Not be subject to any written improvement notices or final written warnings.
  • Be in an active PDR cycle.
  • Have completed your Readiness for Promotion record (GMP Officers only).
  • Have attended or be booked onto the Personal Leadership Training Module (GMP Officers only).
