This position will primarily serve the Birmingham area.

Role Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the premises, managing minor projects within the site, and ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations for the operation of the facility.

Your role will involve maintaining a safe, welcoming, clean, and hygienic environment that meets the needs of the individuals we support.

You will be expected to uphold high professional standards in record-keeping and reporting related to the facility.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting regular audits of quality systems as required.
  • Performing inspections and addressing issues with contractors that do not meet required standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to current national regulations and inspection standards relevant to this type of establishment.
  • Managing your workload effectively to provide proactive maintenance services.
  • Collaborating closely with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects and seeking their expertise on technical matters.
  • Identifying and proposing projects that enhance the functionality and efficiency of the facility for staff, students, and visitors.
  • Ensuring that all projects are completed on schedule and that areas occupied by contractors are left in good condition.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the grounds.

What You Bring:

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in building and maintenance practices, experience with compliance and record-keeping, and a background in trades is preferred but not mandatory.
