Role Specifics

We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician with a focus on fabric maintenance. This position is based in Birmingham and involves a mobile role covering various locations. The starting salary for this position is competitive, with additional on-call allowances available. This is a full-time role, with standard working hours from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications Required

  • NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC/City & Guilds, or equivalent.
  • Formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driving license is mandatory.
  • Comfortable using technology for job logging.
  • Availability for on-call duties.
  • Desirable to have prior industry experience.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other technical disciplines.

Key Duties

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and wellbeing policies, technical guidance, and statutory regulations.
  • Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services as directed by the planning team, ensuring operational standards are consistently met.
  • Support minor works management activities.
  • Perform routine repairs or minor works, including joinery, painting, general building maintenance, groundwork, and plumbing.
  • Maintain accurate site logbooks at all NHS locations as required.
  • Assist the Projects/Construction team in executing minor capital works.
  • Conduct risk assessments prior to undertaking tasks and follow instructions within relevant work plans.
  • Engage in other operational tasks, including basic fabric and electrical work.
