Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to join our Scotland Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team as an Assistant Manager. The role is based in our offices and offers a diverse client portfolio, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a primary contact for a portfolio of clients regarding daily tax matters, collaborating closely with Managers and Senior Managers.
  • Assisting in the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services.
  • Contributing to tax advisory projects by providing insights on UK corporation tax, conducting research, and integrating input from various tax areas and international member firms.
  • Keeping clients informed about emerging corporate and broader tax developments that may affect their operations.
  • Supporting the execution of tax reporting and audit assignments.
  • Overseeing the work of junior staff members and offering coaching to facilitate their professional development.
  • Assisting Managers and Senior Managers with client account management, ensuring adherence to quality, risk management, and financial protocols.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives alongside leadership.
The role encompasses a blend of tax compliance, reporting, and advisory responsibilities, with flexibility in the allocation of time based on individual experience and interests.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent.
  • Experience in UK corporation tax.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify core issues and evaluate information.
  • Effective communication skills, characterized by openness, honesty, and clarity.
  • A high level of motivation, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Accountability for managing personal workload and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • The ability to mentor junior staff, providing clear guidance and constructive feedback.
