About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Advisor to join our team at HM Treasury, specializing in taxation policy. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the UK's tax system, working closely with senior officials and ministers to develop and implement policies that drive economic growth and fairness.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead on setting income tax rates and thresholds, as well as the Personal Allowance, to ensure a fair and efficient tax system.
  2. Own the branch's work on policy development, exploring innovative solutions to simplify the income tax system and improve its effectiveness.
  3. Develop and implement policies related to the taxation of property income, ensuring a balanced approach that supports homeownership and wider simplification agendas.
About You

We are looking for a talented individual with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for taxation policy. You will need to demonstrate the ability to establish positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, acknowledging different perspectives to facilitate discussions and drive collaborative decision-making.
