Position Overview

Application Support Specialist

Location: Hybrid – based in Doncaster 2-3 days per week.

Role Objective:

Become a vital member of our client's organization as an Application Support Specialist, where you will provide exceptional service and application expertise, enabling stakeholders to maximize their use of the application suite.

The Application Support Specialist will be responsible for overseeing application performance, ensuring security, optimizing configurations, coordinating training, maintaining documentation, facilitating ongoing product improvements, and delivering excellent user support.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

  • Previous experience in an Application Support capacity.
  • Dedication to personal growth and swift adaptation to new software.
  • Familiarity with Document Management systems and/or Forms-Based applications is advantageous.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles.
  • Personable with strong customer interaction skills.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for IT and business initiatives, serving as the primary contact for application usage.
  • Ensure optimal application performance, security, and configurations.
  • Organize training sessions and create relevant documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvements and provide outstanding user assistance.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for applications, delivering second-line support and maintenance.
  • Lead enhancements and minor modifications.
  • Collaborate with third-party application vendors to address support issues, monitor application uptime and performance, and conduct regular review meetings.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Enthusiastic about application support with the initiative to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Team-oriented, experienced in engaging with diverse stakeholders, and representing the organization in user communities.
  • Innovative problem-solver with the capability to take charge of application projects or modifications.
  • Effective communicator skilled in simplifying technical concepts for varied audiences.

This individual will play a crucial role in a user-focused team dedicated to delivering business enhancements while adhering to strict service level agreements (SLAs) for Business as Usual (BAU), operating in a dynamic environment that values creativity, collaboration, and clear communication. You will have the opportunity to become the primary resource for application support.

The compensation package includes a salary of up to £38,000 plus benefits such as a contributory pension and 25 days of annual leave.
