Position: Residential Childcare Support Worker

Working Hours: Rotating shift patterns

Overview: Budwood, a division of Polaris Community, is dedicated to offering Residential Care and Support to children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges, as well as social and emotional mental health issues. Our mission is to create a stable and nurturing environment that provides extensive support and guidance, facilitating a smooth transition to independence and adulthood.

We are looking for dedicated Residential Support Workers in Dorchester to join our team, which is committed to delivering personalized care packages tailored to the needs of children and young adults. Our staff members receive training in 'Developmental Trauma' and therapeutic parenting techniques to ensure the highest quality of support.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with children and young individuals
  • Availability for flexible shift work
  • Commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of young people
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with young individuals
  • Team-oriented approach
  • Encouragement of young people's personal interests and development
  • Possession of a relevant qualification in Health & Social Care or willingness to pursue one
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Strong communication and listening skills, along with a readiness to learn
  • Experience in Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is advantageous
