About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Budwood, a leading provider of residential care and support services for children and young people with emotional behavioral difficulties and social and emotional mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality support and care to our young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with our young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a small team to provide flexible and individualized care packages that meet the unique needs of each young person.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that the needs of our young people are met and their rights are respected.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and supportive living environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as therapeutic parenting, developmental trauma, and child-centered practice.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Understanding of the issues that affect young people in care, including emotional behavioral difficulties and social and emotional mental health needs.
  • Flexibility in your availability, including working x hour shifts, including sleep ins, over a week rotation.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with our young people and their families.
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team, with a willingness to accept direction and guidance.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Residential Childcare or a related field, or be willing to work towards a required qualification.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car, as this role will involve traveling to various locations.
