Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Information Security Engineer to enhance our IT Security efforts. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure that our IT systems are designed and operated securely.

The focus of the information security engineering team is on the technical aspects of system architecture, data protection, and compliance audits. Our goal is to integrate privacy and security into the design of our systems and services. You will work closely with colleagues in governance and compliance to provide auditing capabilities and ensure that data usage adheres to regulatory standards.

Our team comprises individuals ranging from recent graduates to seasoned engineers, with diverse backgrounds in system administration, networking, service operations, and security. We utilize leading enterprise-level tools to identify system threats, alongside in-house developed scripts and extensive internet research.

The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, responding to evolving business priorities and the threat landscape.

This position is eligible for our hybrid working policy.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in information security engineering with a strong focus on application security, particularly in network infrastructure and engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of ITIL principles and security governance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, and CIS Controls.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM technologies is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding and practical experience in implementing security measures for Microsoft and Linux operating systems, including RHEL and Ubuntu distributions.
  • Experience with next-generation firewalls, SASE solutions, and privileged access management systems.
  • Solid understanding of data encryption, key management, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
  • Familiarity with security technology development and automation tools, including Ansible and Puppet.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security practices across platforms such as GCP, Azure, AWS, and Office 365.
  • Practical programming skills in Python, Java, and PowerShell.
  • Extensive experience with EDR and XDR solutions across various operating systems, along with practical experience in managing email security gateways.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and responding to system alerts generated by various security technologies.
  • Implementing and managing a range of security tools.
  • Engaging in security engineering projects.
  • Conducting security-related investigations.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the secure completion of external documents and compliance with information security requirements.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Performing routine security checks and verifications in line with business needs.
  • Actively participating in audits.
  • Keeping abreast of new and emerging threats, escalating relevant issues to appropriate teams for further assessment.
