Senior Cybersecurity Analyst
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst who will concentrate on the technical dimensions of information security, ensuring that IT infrastructures are developed and maintained securely.
The Information Security team actively monitors our operational environment, generating and responding to alerts and anomalies detected through automated systems or manual scrutiny.
The Security Operations Centre (SOC) is responsible for the complete lifecycle from alert generation to resolution, playing a crucial role in the management of cyber incidents. This team serves as both the alert reviewer and the resolution unit, focusing on identifying issues rather than necessarily rectifying them.
In your role within the SOC, you will collaborate closely with the engineering team to define tool requirements and integrate new functionalities. Additionally, you will engage with colleagues in governance and compliance to ensure the proper handling of data.
We utilize top-tier, enterprise-grade tools to detect threats to our systems, alongside internally developed scripts and online research. The daily responsibilities are fast-paced and dynamic, requiring adaptability to shifting business priorities and evolving threat landscapes.
This position is eligible for inclusion in the company's hybrid work-from-home policy.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Proven experience in leading roles that advocate for information security throughout the project lifecycle.
- Extensive hands-on technical expertise in securing operating systems and utilizing security tools.
- Experience conducting security-related technical investigations.
- Familiarity with industry-standard information security practices.
- Knowledge of advancements in security technologies and their practical applications.
- Understanding of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) at its current version.
- Exceptional communication and documentation skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational abilities and capacity to meet deadlines.
- A pragmatic approach to governance and risk management.
- A committed, adaptable, and proactive attitude towards work.
Main Responsibilities
- Overseeing the technical aspects of the incident management process concerning information security incidents.
- Conducting security-related investigations.
- Managing daily security operations and serving as an escalation point when necessary.
- Responding to and reporting on system alerts generated by various monitoring technologies.
- Leading project initiatives to ensure that information security considerations are integrated from the outset and throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of the business while supporting team members.
- Collaborating with the business to ensure compliance with information security requirements across different jurisdictions.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Participating actively in audits as required.
