Position Overview

Are you dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of children and young individuals aged 5 to 18 in care? We are pleased to announce an opportunity to become a part of the Derbyshire Children in Care (CiC) Nursing Team, working part-time across a diverse geographical area within Derbyshire. We seek a Nurse Specialist for CiC to join our established team, delivering high-quality statutory health evaluations for Children in Care throughout Derbyshire. Our primary location is at Clay Cross Clinic, with various appointment types and access clinics available across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Statutory Review Health Assessments within designated timelines.
  • Develop comprehensive, high-quality Health Care Plans.
  • Prepare detailed, child-centered reports that reflect the child's perspective.
  • Collaborate effectively with various agencies, including Social Care, Policy, Safeguarding, Education, and other health organizations.
  • Provide information and guidance to the Multi-Disciplinary Team supporting Children in Care.
  • Engage in Duty Days as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Registered Children's Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse.
  • Registered as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
  • Experience in multi-agency collaboration within School Nursing or Public Health Nursing.
  • Experience working in community settings and with vulnerable children and young people.
  • Experience in safeguarding practices and attending relevant meetings.

Desirable:

  • BA Hons in Community Nursing or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in areas such as Sexual Health Family Planning, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and caseload management abilities.
  • Capacity to formulate accurate and comprehensive reports.
