Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Medical Microbiologist/Consultant in Infectious Diseases to lead our undergraduate teaching at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia (UEA), on behalf of the Department of Microbiology, Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical microbiology and infectious disease services to patients.
  • Lead and develop undergraduate teaching programs at the Norwich Medical School.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical microbiology and infectious disease services within the trust.
  • Participate in out-of-hours cover for clinical microbiology and infectious disease services.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement service improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Training and experience equivalent to that required for FRCPath.
  • Teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Wide experience of clinical microbiology, infectious disease, and infection control.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Training and expertise in children's safeguarding.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in research or published papers in the area of special interest.
Working Arrangements

The post holder will participate in a single rota for out-of-hours cover across Norfolk, resulting in an anticipated frequency of 1 in 8 at full capacity.
