About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our Procurement department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment at Fortescue Zero.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the supply base to ensure effective supply of products and services delivered according to the required specification, to schedule, and at minimum cost to support the growing Indirect needs of the business.
  • Responsible for the on-time delivery of Indirect goods and services, for new and existing requirements.
  • Create and report against Category procurement strategy, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparation and issue of RFQs.
  • Carry out commercial negotiations, including, but not limited to, FM agreements (soft and hard), service level agreements, utilities, Capex, and consumable provisions within the UK and overseas.
  • Supplier selection and nomination to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Working with different ERP systems to raise purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Cost and budget leadership, providing clear and accurate data into budget holders.
  • Complete commercial validation of supplier payment terms, delivery terms, and general terms and conditions to ensure that all are aligned with the business and/or customer requirements. A good commercial acumen and legal understanding will be essential.
  • Report procurement status at programme reviews and gateways to senior management.
  • Lead the resolution of supplier quality concerns, ensuring proper root cause analysis is carried out and robust corrective action implemented.
  • Responsible for coordination of NDAs with supplier and the business legal team.
  • Responsible for resolving any invoice queries arising from POs.
  • Creation and development of supplier performance data and working alongside key business stakeholders and with supplier quality assurance team to ensure effective supplier development plans are in place and measures executed.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, SLAs, with suppliers to mitigate failure to meet business requirements.
  • Follow the Purchasing Procedures of the company and maintain the working environment to levels consistent with the business.
  • Create, develop, and continuously improve the business procurement processes and procedures within a multi-programme environment.
  • Have a broad understanding of sourcing and category management plans ideally within FM.
  • Ability to support and mentor junior members of the team.
About You
  • Experience in a similar Indirect Procurement role and CIPS qualification preferred.
  • Experience of procuring within the FM sector along with related services and Capex equipment preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills allied with an ability and commitment to meet deadlines.
