As such, they are now seeking an experienced Buyer to help them on this journey.Your new roleReporting to the CFO at their headquarters in Kidlington, this role involves managing vendor relationships and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. It encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including technical and non-technical purchasing, and overseeing the flow of purchased items through from the business to installation. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with prior experience in a similar purchasing role. Key responsibilities include procuring parts and consumables for vehicles and the wider business, managing the procurement of custom-designed parts primarily from the UK, China, and the USA, sourcing and placing orders for contract and non-contract items, negotiating lower prices, maintaining supplier details and reviewing their performance, monitoring supplier performance and developing improvement programs, maintaining minimum stock levels, adjusting parts system parameters for timely availability and appropriate batch sizes, progressing and chasing outstanding purchase orders in liaison with production management, controlling goods inwards and stock management, and assisting in other areas of the company as required.What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have a proven history of working as a buyer in a small to medium enterprise, with knowledge of automotive parts. They will be flexible, an excellent communicator, and possess a can-do attitude, working well both on their own initiative and as part of a wider team. Desirable experience includes proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.), the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and data, familiarity with business tools such as Asana and Jira, knowledge of the 'Partsbox' inventory control system, and the ability to read and speak Mandarin Chinese ()What you'll get in returnWorking at this innovative company is incredibly exciting due to its rapid growth and the unique opportunity to establish the procurement function from the ground up.
