We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Dunlarg care home in County Armagh. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred dining experiences for our residents.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Chef to support menu planning, meal preparation, and kitchen management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
This is a 32-hour per week role, required to cover weekends, and offers a competitive hourly rate, paid annual leave, and opportunities for progression.
Main Responsibilities- Support the kitchen team and Chef in providing training, development, and motivation.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver food preparation and cooking services efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure operational standards are met and assist with monitoring the home's catering budget.
- Develop and create varied and interesting menus, ensuring dietary needs and cultural requirements are met.
- Organise stock ordering and rotation in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Undertake other duties as designated by the Home Manager.
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Food Safety or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' experience in a food preparation/kitchen environment.
- Basic knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and Health and Safety.
