We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our team at Dunlarg care home in County Armagh. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred dining experiences for our residents.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Cook in a food preparation/kitchen environment or a similar role. You must hold a basic Food Safety certificate and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A basic understanding of the dietary needs, nutritional and cultural requirements of elderly people is also essential.

In this role, you will work closely with the Chef to support menu planning, meal preparation, and kitchen management. You will be responsible for ensuring operational standards comply with regulatory requirements and assist with monitoring the home's catering budget. Your ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail is crucial.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the kitchen team and Chef in planning, preparing, and delivering all aspects of food preparation and cooking.

  • Develop and create varied and interesting menus.
  • Organise stock ordering and rotation efficiently and cost-effectively.
