About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Dunlarg care home. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred dining experiences for our residents.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Cook in a food preparation/kitchen environment and hold a basic Food Safety certificate. They will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a basic understanding of the dietary needs, nutritional and cultural requirements of elderly people.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the kitchen team and Chef in providing training and development opportunities, encouraging best practice and motivation.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver all aspects of food preparation and cooking, ensuring operational standards are met.
  • Assist with monitoring the home's catering budget and developing varied and interesting menus.
  • Ensure stock ordering and rotation is organised efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Undertake any other duties as designated by the Home Manager.
