Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Careers. As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and challenging behavior in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with autism and challenging behavior, promoting their emotional and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a culture of respect and understanding.
  • Assist in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities, ensuring students receive the support they need to reach their full potential.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to support students' emotional and social development, promoting positive behavior and reducing challenging behavior.
  • Support students in developing essential life skills, including communication, self-regulation, and independence.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to create and adapt resources for individual students, ensuring their needs are met and their progress is tracked.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, providing valuable insights for teachers and other professionals.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings, preferably with students with autism and challenging behavior.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of students and the school.
  • Commitment to promoting positive behavior and reducing challenging behavior, with a focus on supporting students' emotional and social development.
