Position Overview

Statera Talent is seeking a Commodities Trading Analyst for a prominent buy-side organization located in London.

This role is situated on the trading floor, where you will work closely with traders and origination teams, playing a key role in shaping trading strategies and approving new deals.

Your responsibilities will include evaluating market conditions, identifying potential risks within the trading portfolio, and analyzing the fundamental drivers of revenue. Exceptional communication skills are crucial, as you will be presenting insights directly to high-level executives, including the CEO and CCO.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of experience in a Front Office Commodities position, whether through a permanent role or a commercial graduate program. Candidates with backgrounds as Market Risk Analysts or Product Controllers who have a solid grasp of market fundamentals will also be considered.

Opportunities for internal advancement into trading roles are common for high-performing individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent reviews and evaluations of trading strategies.
  • Analyze the effects of market fluctuations, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments on the trading portfolio.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of specific trading positions to assess risk and reward dynamics.
  • Deliver actionable insights to C-Suite executives, summarizing risk exposures, market conditions, and trading strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
  • Previous experience in a Front Office or Middle Office capacity, particularly in commodities trading or risk management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to constructively challenge traders.
  • Familiarity with exotic commodities products is a plus.
